Boy-oh-boy, this is going to be one hell of a night, and I have my calendar marked! Should be fun for Eddie Murphy, and for those of us watching.

And since it's on Spike TV, that should allow for the kind of irreverence you won't see if this were going to air on network TV.

Previously announced talent includes Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Tracy Morgan, Arsenio Hall, Brett Ratner, Charlie Murphy, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Martin Lawrence.

Now we can add Jamie Foxx, Adam Sandler, Tyler Perry, and Keenen Ivory Wayans to the list.

AND, The Roots will be the house band throughout the evening.

Also worth noting, the network has set up a website for the ceremony (with a few goodies) which you can check out HERE.

The full details from a Spike TV press release follow below:

Joining the all-star talent roster, which features many of Murphy's peers and co-stars, includes Jamie Foxx, Adam Sandler, Tyler Perry, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Nick Nolte. In addition, The Roots will perform throughout the evening as the show's house band. "Eddie Murphy: One Night Only" will tape on Saturday, November 3 at the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles and will air on Wednesday, November 14.

Previously announced talent includes Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Tracy Morgan, Arsenio Hall, Brett Ratner, Charlie Murphy, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Martin Lawrence.

The exclusive Spike TV event, produced in conjunction with Don Mischer Productions, will include short films, musical performances, sketch comedy and culminate in an appearance by Murphy.

"Thirty years ago, Eddie Murphy came on to the comedy scene and changed the game forever," said Casey Patterson, Executive Vice President, Event Production, Talent Development & Studio Relations - Viacom Entertainment Group. "We're thrilled to be honoring him for the very first time, 'One Night Only'." "Eddie Murphy is the standard for comedic excellence" said Vernon Lynch, Murphy's brother and Executive Producer.

"Eddie Murphy: One Night Only" will pay homage to Murphy's journey from a 15-year-old aspiring comedian, to the record-breaking "Raw," which remains the highest grossing stand-up film of all time, to his indelible characters and impressions from "Saturday Night Live" including Buckwheat, Gumby, Mr. Robinson and James Brown.

The special marks 30 years since the release of the groundbreaking stand-up concert film "Delirious," and the classic film "48 Hrs.," which featured the breakout performances that made him one of the biggest superstars in the world.

Spike TV has been an industry leader in original event programming honoring male icons and heroes from the worlds of comedy, sports and entertainment. Recent honorees at various signature events include Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Robert Downey Jr., LeBron James, Adam Sandler, Kobe Bryant and more.
