"Big congratulations to my fiance @DavidOtunga in his 1st movie role with Halle berry in 'The Hive'."

Jennifer Hudson tweeted those words about five hours ago, which her fiance, lawyer and professional wrestler David Otunga, retweeted.

Now you can add actor to his resume. I'm sure most of you recall that Otunga came into the spotlight as 'Punk' in the VHI reality series I love New York 2.

No other details have been released regarding his role in Brad Anderson's The Hive, starring Halle Berry and co-starring Abigail Breslin. We last announced that the thriller, about a 911 operator (Berry) trying to save a young abducted girl, will be produced and co-financed by WWE Studios and Troika Pictures. Principal photography is scheduled to begin sometime this week.

A theater release is expected sometime in 2013.

    Co-financed by WWE Studios??!!

Well, I hope David does well. We should at least give him a chance.

I hate that I know that his nickname was "Punk," not Puck.

Since WWE Studios is backing this, they obviously are behind the push to put David in it. Sounds like somebody is chasing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's career moves...hmm Let's see if it works.

Doubtful. I think there was actual demand for The Rock in movies; seems like Otunga's just seeing how far Jennifer's coat tails will take him.

In the immortals words of Josephine Baker and Bob Dylan, "For the times they are a changin." The Rock he is not. SMDH.

Um, does he have any acting credits? Halle needs to be surrounding herself with actors, not reality TV stars. Maybe he has a tiny role.

Pro wrestling is acting. It's bad acting, but acting nevertheless. As for the movie, it was better when it was Cellular.
