It makes its official debut next month at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, but it's already been acquired for distribution... for UK audiences.
Julie Delpy's relationship dramedy 2 Days In New York, which she stars in along with Chris Rock, has been picked up by Network Releasing in a deal for all UK rights.
The sequel to Delpy’s smart and funny 2007 comedy 2 Days in Paris, follows Delpy's "Marion" relocated to New York where she is juggling a new boyfriend, played by Chris Rock, whose obvious different cultural background is one ingredient in an explosive mix, when her family visits from France.
“2 Days in New York is a great relationship comedy which we have been tracking for some time. This pre-sale deal was a logical progression for us as we look to bring a wider range of independent film properties to the UK to a wider audience,” said Tim beddows of Network Releasing.
Network Releasing plans to debut the film in the UK next spring.
As for those of us in the USA... well, nothing yet about any stateside pickups. I'm hoping to be at Sundance next month, with this as one of the few films on my short list.
Hope we get a trailer soon.
