NBC never did pick up the women's prison drama pilot Bad Girls - an adaptation of a UK series - that Jurnee Smollett was a star of. But she'll return to the network for a stint on the Jekyll-and-Hyde-ish thriller, Do No Harm.

Smollett will join the midseason series for 3 episodes, playing the daughter of Phylicia Rashad’s character, Dr. Vanessa Young - the "strong and determined" chief of surgery who leads by example, as well as boss to the neurosurgeon with the split personality, played by Steven Pasquale.

The program revolves around a brilliant neurosurgeon and his dangerous alter-ego that disrupts his personal and processional life.

Do No Harm premieres Thursday, January 31 at 10/9c after 30 Rock‘s one-hour series finale.

Smollett will next be seen on the big screen in Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.

AWESOME! Jurnee Smollett's resume should be about 2 pages long by now. She's a phenomenal actress.

Why couldn't Phyllicia or Jurnee be the main character with the split personality? That would have been a much heftier role.

I did remember some time ago that there was something going on with a show that actress Jurnee Smollett was about to star in a show named "Bad Girls". But never heard any word if the show was going to premiere. The story line really sounded like it was going to be something. Then there was an Tyler Perry movie called Temptation which I've already seen the movie trailer. There something there that brings a very interesting element to the story of that film. But since there isn't any word on the show. Maybe the network pasted on the idea instead thought it would be better to just bring a character to this NBC's new show 'Do No Harm' which Jurnee Smollett only appears in a few episodes of this show. Which kinda disappointing. She's such a good actress it would be better to see what ever happened to that show that was in development of "Bad Girls" hopefully there will be some news on that series in the near future.

I looked forward to "Bad Girls". Isn't that what Tracee Ellis Ross left "Reed Between the Lines" for. Jurnee Smollett is too good to a supporting's character support. But she's just 26 or so, she'll have her moment soon enough. Probably after "Temptation"

Jurnee Smollett can't get a job on NBC but Meagan Good can? I guess that's why I quit watching network tv.
