Katori Hall is one busy lady jumping from one project to another!  The Mountaintop debuted on Broadway last fall, Hurt Village opened off-broadway at the Signature Theater, and now WHADDABLOODCLOT!!! makes its world Premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival

The synopsis reads:

One-percenter Eden Higgenbotham lives a cushy Upper-East-Side life surrounded by equally affluent, vain, and snobbish friends. When a sudden stroke causes her to contract the very rare Foreign Accent Syndrome, which makes her speak uncontrollably with a Jamaican accent, she's forced to embrace a dramatically altered identity. Irreverent and hilarious, WHADDABLOODCLOT!!! is a searing satire of race and class.

The cast includes Tina Benko, Aaron Costa Ganis, Brian Tyree Henry, Greta Lee, Andres Munar, Kathy Searle, and Carolyn Michelle Smith.  The piece will be directed by May Adrales running August 8-19th at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Tickets can be purchased here or by calling 413-597-3400.

This is weird....if the stroke causes a change in accent but not a change in income, how does the film explore class issues? Post stroke she will still be a rich woman, just with a different accent.

I hear what you, but maybe they will explore class issues without it being directly related to her stroke... It does seem suspect though.

Great, just what I need. People playing the Jamaican accent for laughs. It's like my childhood all over again. As much as it pains me to say this as a theater person...I'll pass on this one.

My childhood trauma feels your pain. I'll try to be open minded as descriptions can be misleading.
