UPDATE: Pulliam posted the following to Twitter a little bit ago, addressing the rumors: "I am NOT joining the cast of RHOA this season... Next season or any season. I honestly don't know where this rumor is coming from!! Pls RT"

##############################################################################################

You may call it a questionable career move (at least I do), but actress Keisha Knight Pulliam (who's all grown up now, but will be forever known as little Rudy from The Cosby Show) has reportedly joined the cast of the reality show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which has been shooting for several weeks now, for its fifth season.

Pulliam, after leaving The Cosby Show, went to gradaute from Spelman College, and has been living in Atlanta for several years, working as both a business woman (who just recently launched her summer camp, Kamp Kizzy, for young teenage girls), and as an actress, working on indie projects as well as Tyler Perry TV shows and movies like Madea Goes To Jail.

Whether or not this is really the right venue for Pulliam, you will have to admit that it at least keeps her in the public eye.

But at what cost?

If she was willing to do a Tyler Perry movie, then the RHOA ain't so bad.

@MICAH - Get on Netflix RIGHT NOW and get back to LB up there after watching MADEA'S BIG HAPPY FAMILY. Inmediatamente! Methinks your tune might change...

While I have yet to see a Tyler Perry film (Wait I saw part of Daddy's Little Girls. I though it was a made for TV movie at first and kept flipping channels.) I'm sure his movies are far superior entertainment than RHOA. As much as people may have a problem with his film making abilities, let's not get carried away.

Honestly, there is no room for actors on TV any more, reality shows, talk shows, news magazine shows, court TV shows, etc. has many actors, especially in "Black Hollywood",looking for any change to make their next dollar. Reality shows are the "bully on the block' now and soup operas are one of it's many casualties.

True or not, it would fit right in with her current career trajectory.

  • Micah | June 20, 2012 2:25 PMReply

Please check the woman's twitter. She's not joining. She's too sensible for that. http://twitter.com/#!/peachespulliam

You know what, she may get on there and join the side of the RHOA cast that is sensible and push the envelope on bringing it back to something that we can all be proud of, instead of the ratchetness that we have come way too familiar with on reality TV. I met her two months ago, and she was just as down-to-earth and beautiful as ever. I wish her the best.

Cliffs: Keshia Knight-Pulliam has always been a hottie, and she can change the flavor of the show and bring the classiness back in. Then we can appreciate the show once again...

Besides, many women in ATL will tell you the way things go on this show does not accurately represent how true ATL women are. Nothing against the staff now, but you have to admit the show is sensationalized enough to make you cringe.

If she could accomplish that it would be amazing. However I'm sure producers would never take the risk.

  • bondgirl | June 20, 2012 12:20 PMReply

She tweeted that the rumors are false, and that she will never ever be on Real Housewives. Hallelu-yer! LOL

  • WOW | June 20, 2012 12:30 PM

Madea, is that you? *lol* HALLELU-YER!

  • Micah | June 20, 2012 12:24 PM

Thank God the scare is over people!

Nadell, Cordell, don't you tell... so what, Sergio can't spell? If Peter Piper can pick a peck of pickle peppers, Rudy can show her booty with the rest of the cooties. Her pootie tang thang can still be a cutie and get all the lootie. Say it loud, we're black and we're proud. So pat that cake, pat that cake, baker's man. Flip that ass, flip that ass, as fast as you can; pat it and prick it and mark it with B (black booty that is), put it in on show for baby and me. Welcome to show business y'all.

Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies. But why would you suggest such, my little nemesis? I mean, I think Mr. (or Mrs.) Wow has their own style.

  • Nemesis | June 20, 2012 2:15 PM

    Carey? Is that you...?

  • Micah | June 20, 2012 12:07 PMReply

A little piece of my heart just died.

Well, when Tyler Perry's your only career option, you gotta make money any way you can. Kandi's a far better singer/songwriter than Keisha is an actress (and that ain't saying much), so it's not totally crazy to me. Yeah, it's wack to go from Cosby & Spelman to TP & Housewives, but she has little else to fall back on. P.S. Only ONE 'L' in SpeLman.

  • Cordell | June 20, 2012 10:50 AMReply

Why Rudy Why!!!!!! Not a good look.

  • Nadell | June 20, 2012 11:32 AM

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Rudy!
    My sentiments as well, Cordell
