Kinyarwanda still

In observance of the Rwandan Genocide of 1994, Alrick Brown's Sundance Award-winning drama Kinyarwanda will screen intensively throughout the country during a 100-day commemoration in April and May.

Dubbed the 100 Days Tour, the screening events bring together the American filmmakers and Rwandan colleagues, who give firsthand accounts of the Genocide itself as well as the making of the film, with the aim of keeping the dialogue in the public consciousness.

Also included are a few screening engagements outside the U.S., including Poland, Jamaica, and Saturna Island, BC.

The tour kicked off earlier this month with a Genocide Commemoration at the United Nations on April 11 in New York. Remaining tour dates are listed below.

Decent marketing ploy for a bunch of random screenings if it wasn't trading on millions of murders. Alrick Brown is bleeding this movie dry, and that's real dry since it was already dry to start with. How he got AFFRM to buy into it is besides me. I guess if you make something humanitarian and tragic you can ride it until the wheels fall off. I'm more interested in this AfryKamera Fest. I've never heard of it. Polish Black Festival! I can dig it!

Not to understate the buy inners // Sundance, Roger Ebert, SnagFilms, etcetera. But I don't feel as bad for them.
