I haven't seen his name mentioned in any of the press announcements today as being part of the cast, but (as you can see from the promo pic above) Lamman Rucker is indeed in the core cast of the new NBC series pickup Save Me, which stars Anne as "a woman in a broken marriage who transforms into a version of herself and creates miracles along the way," says THR.

The new series is said to have tested off the charts with audiences, encouraging NBC to fast-track it for an August debut, ordering a 13-episode first season.

Rucker will play a Dr. John Wilkins (according to IMBDPro), costarring alongside Heche (the star of the show), Alexandra Breckenridge and Michael Landes

Not much else available right now on who exactly Dr. John Wilkins is in relation to the other characters.

Stay tuned...

Rucker will next be seen in Russ Parr's The Under Shepherd, which will screen next at the ABFF next month.

And he does seem like a nice guy. Great for him!

Tyler Perry discovered him. Thanks Tyler. You go, Lamman!

But alas "nobody" knew he was.

Was he a major costar in that soap? Or a dispensible character? The man has a track record with Perry and is getting known but let the hate continue.

Thank you, Shebababy. If anything, maybe As the World Turns discovered him.

Ok. But it was his work with Perry that shot him to general/black public conciousness.

Tyler Perry did not discover Lamaan Rucker. He's been acting for years before Tyler was even on the scene and was one of the first people I met when I got to LA. He's a nice guy and this is a good look for him.

He will be one of the good blacks on a white folks show

Ignorant comment. So what? Black actors can only work on 'black' shows now? What world do you live in?

Really happy for Lamman. Cool bruh & a serious jump outta the T.P. vortex. Plus the pilot is funny as hell, so here's to getting some serious pub.

...yeah, I heard about the pilot. Heche has always had skills. Her personal "drama" always got in the way. She like a little firecracker that is about to go off. Let's see what happens.
