The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Laurence Fishburne is in final talks to join to cast of the Canadian sci-fi thriller The Colony which is set to start production in Toronto the end of March.

The Jeff Renfore directed film, which he co-wrote with Patrick Tarr, Pacal Trottier and Svet Rouskov, deals with a "group of underground survivors after the next Ice Age fending off an invasion of feral cannibals." Sounds sort of like The Descent if you ask me.

Also in talk to join Fishburne is Kevin Zegers, of whom I had absolutely NO idea who he was until I found out he was a regular on Gossip Girl which explains why I've never heard of him before.
