Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed at CinemaCon on Thursday that, along with CodeBlack Entertainment, a deal had been struck to back Kevin Hart's next film, which will be titled Quick & Easy.
No details were given on plot during the announcement.
Lionsgate is now officially in the Kevin Hart business, with Feltheimer saying that the company had been pursuing a relationship with Hart, especially after CodeBlack's box office success with his last concert film, Kevin Hart: Laugh at My Pain, which grossed a strong $7.7 million in limited release.
Lest we forget, Lionsgate is already deep in the Tyler Perry business, and has done (and continues to do) very well with that arrangement.
Lionsgate and Code Black are teaming to release Hart’s next concert film, Let Me Explain, this summer, on July 3.
