I read this and immediately remembered Malcolm's August post in which he waxed on how we apply the idea of movie remakes to other forms of art (like literature and music), given how popular movie remakes are these days (read that post HERE).
Macy Gray seems to be captivated by the idea, because she's decided to *remake* Stevie Wonder's 15th album, 1972's Talking Book; not just one song; she wants to remake the entire album.
“We were talking about ideas for cover songs and [Wilner] goes, ‘You know what you should do is a whole album. Everyone remakes movies, but no one remakes albums... I thought that was a wild idea so I was like, ‘Yes!’ I picked Talking Book ‘cause that’s one of my favorite records and I know it inside out,” Gray tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Curious? The *remake* is out now.
