Another Sundance 2012 pickup... Magnolia Pictures has acquired release rights to Julie Delpy's relationship dramedy 2 Days In New York, which she stars in along with Chris Rock.

The sequel to Delpy’s smart and funny 2007 comedy 2 Days in Paris, follows Delpy's "Marion" relocated to New York where she is juggling a new boyfriend, played by Chris Rock, whose obvious different cultural background is one ingredient in an explosive mix, when her family visits from France.

Magnolia will release the film through its "Ultra VOD" program later this year, accompanied by a "robust" theatrical release in major markets, according to THR.

I saw the film at Sundance, and reviewed it (HERE); I liked it, but not as much as I did the first one.

Hope we get a trailer soon.
