Out with the good (the Oscars)... in with the bad (the Razzies), celebrating, or is it shaming the worst of the year 2011, I give you the Razzie nominees announced this morning.
Of note, as the title of this post states, Martin Lawrence picked up a nom for Worst Actress for his performance in Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son.
I'm surprised Tyler Perry as Madea isn't nominated for Madeas Big Happy Family.
Here's an astounding stat worth sharing... if Madea was actually played by a real woman (instead of a man in drag), whoever played her would be one of the most bankable black actresses in Hollywood right now, if not actually THE most bankable. Funny right?

It all boils down to how high your standards are and how often you watch quality films. I thought every film in the Transformers series was a massive piece of garbage (1/10 for all of them). They have no legit redeeming qualities for me. Sure, there are worse movies out there, but there's also MANY MANY MANY better ones. Even low budget exploitation films succeed where Michael Bay's work constantly fails, and that's entertaining.

People love to dump on 'Transformers 3' because it's the 'in' thing to do. It was much better than no. 2. Michael Bay did a good job directing a sci-actioner about giant robots beating the crap out of each other.. but people are still mistakenly expecting Shakespeare from it. I'm a life-long Transformers fan and the movies are ok. There's worse fare out there.

Women can't even have their own categories without men-in-drag taking their razzilicious awards! SMH. What the WHAT?!?! And they seriously panned Transformers 3...I think it's the best from the saga; with less cringe-worthy moments than the first two, but whatever.
