Divergent is the first book in a trilogy. I enjoyed the first two books. The third book is scheduled for an October release.

My first thought about the Mekhi Phifer casting news was that he's too old to play any of the black male characters that I remember from the story. The world of the book is racially diverse and there are adults in the movie. But the black characters that I remember that got any significant amount of time in the novel were all teens like Tris, the protagonist.

On another controversial note, I imagined that Christina, the character that Zoe Kravitz will play was much browner than that.
