Melvin Van Peebles To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award At Chicago Movies And Music Festival

Melvin Van Peebles will be the recipient of the Lifetime Achivement Award at the 5th annual Chicago International Movies and Music Festival which will run from April 18-21.

Van Peebles, who is a Chicago native and who turns 81 years old this year, along with his award, will be the subject of special film section accompanied by a conversation with him. And, as an extra added bonus, he will perform at a concert, as well at the festival.

The festival will showcase some 70 films and videos from more than 20 countries, as well as an expansion of the festival’s live music section, presenting label showcases, curated concerts, and innovative live multimedia events.

    Congrats Mr. Van Peebles! I wish TVOne would start a series that featured legends like him who are rarely mentioned on television.
