That Awkward Moment

Here's a first look at Michael B. Jordan in the first of a handful of post-Fruitvale Station projects announced since that much-ballyhooed film's premiere earlier this year.

This one is titled That Awkward Moment (previously called Are We Officially Dating?), in which Jordan co-stars alongside Zac Efron and Miles Teller, as 3 New York bachelors who make a pact to stay single even if they fall in love.

Written and directed by Tom Gormican (his feature film directorial debut), Focus Features will release the film on January 31.

A red-band trailer has surfaced online and is embedded below:

I couldn't stop laughing at the last scene. That's really when it called that awkward moment. One thing confused me is it seems that only two main characters in the film. Though Michael B Jordan is one of the main character, he has no lovers in it? That's awful.

I think Michael's character had just ended a relationship. And in one trailer/scene I saw him with a new woman... So I think he had/has/or will have a girl, as well, at some point in the film.

Do they really think Miles Teller is so much more famous than Michael B Jordan that even though the whole movie's premise is based on his character's misfortune he gets like no love in the red band trailer? Smh.

MBJ deserves so much more than being Efron's token black buddy in what looks to be a predictable Apatowesque "comedy." Here's hoping he can break free from that type of go-to role that the equally talented Anthony Mackie is stuck at right doing right now. MBJ should be starring in his own movies after that breakthrough performance in Fruitvale Station.

I noticed this, too, but I don't want him to be "the token". I want to see him on the same level as the other three fellas. They're all friends and should all get equal amounts of story, but will have to wait and see, won't we?

Kinda like Lamorne Morris on "New Girl". He is a part of the trifecta of friends and at least in the first season had a girlfriend for some of the time and had more presence or equal presence as the other two. In season two I see less of this. I love the character of Winston, but now in season 3, dude's "girlfriend" is a cat. -_- I don't like that. If Nick can find love, if Schmidt can have two loves and lose them, then Winston should be able to have love, lose love, and find love again, but not in a pet cat. Or whatever. I don't know. I love the show. I love Lamorne. And I like DWayans Jr. who's supposed to join the cast again. *i ramble*

If you pay close attention to the trailer, Michael B. Jordan seems to be the third wheel in the troika; you don't even see him with a woman until the near end and it is very fleeting.
