From AICN (via The Playlist), posted yesterday - an interview with Michael K. Williams, who Monique also recently interviewed and got the scoop on his potential participation in Django Unchained:

Capone: You’ve got a very full plate with T.V. right now, but do you have any films coming out like in the next year or so?

MKW: Well I don’t know in the next year, but my film plate is getting a little full. I recently booked a role in an upcoming film called SNITCH with The Rock and Susan Sarandon. I am in huge discussions again with QT, as I call him. [Laughs] You might know him better as Quentin Tarantino. We were talking about another role for DJANGO UNCHAINED, and I’m getting a lot of heat from this remake of an old film called SPARKLE.

Capone: Oh? I’ve heard about this remake actually. With Whitney Houston.

MKW: I’m getting a lot of heat from that. So my movie plate is starting to fill up.

Obviously most interested in the "heat" he's getting from Sparkle, the remake to be directed by Salim Akil from a script by Mara Brock Akil, which already has Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, Mike Epps, Derek Luke, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, and Cee Lo Green in its cast.

RnB singer R. Kelly is reportedly writing original music for the soundtrack. Production begins next month in Detroit.

What role exactly would Williams be offered in this, if he is indeed going to be in it? No word yet.

Stay tuned...

The only other role for Michael K williams to play would be the music label exec who offers the sisters and sparkle a deal.

What are you talking about No Sistas!

So far Whitney Houston and Tika Sumpter are not mixed or white so that is 50% of the cast not 99% being white/bi-racial as you stated.

They still haven't announced Ms. Waters yet.

As usual you have a so called black movie with a female cast that is 99% mixed/biracial, while all the men are pure negroid.

I hope sistas stay away in droves.

I'm watching MKW on Boardwalk Empire... all I can say is wow... The Black American Family in this episode is repped the way it should be- and hated on for it. Nice job
