So it didn’t make a dent at the box office, but that doesn’t mean that it’s been ignored.
And to that end Variety has reported that, today, First Lady Michelle Obama will host a special screening and discussion at the White House of George Tillman’s film The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete.
According to the Variety piece, the screening will be “attended by college and youth organizations, high school teachers and counselors and college students.”
No word as to how the film was picked or who’s decision it was to show it, though, no doubt, nothing was done without Mrs. Obama involvement and approval.
In an official White House statement, the screening will be followed by “a group discussion about the challenges and best practices regarding education access in underserved communities.”
