I'm sure neither of these needs much of an intro around here. We've talked about them aplenty.

If you didn't see either during their original releases (Attack The Block was in theaters over the summer; Luther aired on BBC America this month), you can now do so in the comfort of your living room, because both are now on DVD and VOD (though Luther has been on VOD since it started airing on BBC America).

Extra features on the Attack The Block disk include: 3 Commentary Tracks and 5 featurettes (That's A Rap; Creature Feature; Meet the Gang; Unfilmed Action; Behind The Block).

No Luther disc extras, however.

Attack The Block was in theaters for about 8 weeks, and managed just over $1 million in box office tix sales domestically, and $4.2 million international. I think I speak for a lot of folks when I say that I expected it to do much better than it did, given all the buzz that lead up to its release. But Sony (though some have said, wisely) didn't unleash it on several thousand screens simultaneously as maybe some expected. The film's widest release, according to Box Office Mojo, was just 66 theaters.

Maybe it'll have a much more robust life in ancillary markets.

Both Sergio and I saw and reviewed Attack The Block; my review HERE; Sergio's HERE.

Go get both disks (or watch them on VOD) if you haven't!
