The folks at AVP Galaxy posted some set shots of Ridley Scott's upcoming sci-fi thriller, Prometheus. The film stars Idris Elba, Patrick Wilson and Noomi Raplace and Charlize Theron to name a few. Check them out and let us know what you think...but move fast or they might be gone in 5,4,3,2,1...

Touted as a "prequel" to the film Alien, the official synopsis for Prometheus is:

"...a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."

Seems pretty vague to me and I know we've discussed this at Shadow and Act before but I dunno; there's a strong cast in place and with Ridley directing there's a bit of hope considering Alien and Blade Runner were damn near masterpieces of the genre; however, I am looking forward to seeing something with a bit more bite as we get closer to the film's release date. Again, let us know what you think of the set shots!

In the meantime and until next time c'est la vie!

I'm looking forward to this. The set shots look pretty impressive; better than a soundstage.

Interested. Still...though I'm wondering what connotation, if any, "Prometheus" (the spaceship) will have to the character in Greek mythology... Wait, I think I just got it. LOL. Overall given the bits and pieces of plot, synopsis and summary the site offers, I can see this being a truly great piece. I mean anytime you have a crew of space-folk, trapped in space (Sunshine), planted in some foreign land (Mission to Mars) on the outskirts of the great big nothing or(Solaris) in the swabby depths of the fathom below (Sphere), there's bound to be (hopefully) some great inner-workings taking place...great pontifications, realization and discovery on the nature of man, who we are, where we came from, where we are headed, etc. Awesome cast. I really want to see this.
