Opening in limited release on October 21st, The Constance Marks-directed documentary Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey, will introduce you to the unlikely man behind the puppet – the heart and soul of Elmo – Kevin Clash.

Clash officially became a puppeteer on Sesame Street in 1984, and has been the man behind Elmo since then. He has won Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series for his work as Elmo, and Hoots the Owl, on Sesame Street, 7 straight years in a row - 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and again in 2009.

Both Tambay and Sergio saw the film at festivals this year and thought it was charming, funny and inspirational. The film opens on first in New York at the IFC Center, and will then expand to more cities in November.
