She currently stars alongside Cedric the Entertainer in the original sit-com for TV Land, The Soul Man, but fans of Fox's New Girl, will also be able to see the actress in season 2 episodes of that series, in which she'll play a purse snatcher, who also happens to be a hooker.

Zoey Deschanel stars in New Girl as an offbeat young woman, who moves into an apartment loft with three single men, after a break-up.

By the way, one of those 3 single men is black. His name is Lamorne Morris, and his character's name is Winston Bishop.

Any New Girl fans out there? Thoughts on the series?

love her but that typecasting sucks more than words can say. We gotta get a message to them to change it before it hits the airwaves. Or is it too late?

I was just thinking about the paucity of hooker roles for black actresses.

You think she would have said: "No sorry I'll pass. I don't need this gig that bad."

Exactly! @Sergio..smh do better Niecy. the show is funny though if you like that kind of humor, Lamone adds nothing to it the other guys pretty much carry the show. Oh and the Indian girl.
