He's already signed up to host a primetime block for Magic Johnson's new ASPiRE TV network, and now this news... in addition to all the indie films he'll be appearing in over the next 12 months, the brotha is in demand and busy.

From the press release I received a little bit ago, but I'm just now getting to:

LOS ANGELES, May 31, 2012 -- On June 11, "Verses & Flow" will begin filming its second season at the historical Belasco Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. This year's host is American actor and Georgia native Omari Hardwick. Known for his performances in award-winning television series and films, including CSI: Miami, Dark Blue and For Colored Girls, he will be a significant addition to the celebrated series. In addition, Hardwick will be making a debut in the summer release of Sparkle, playing alongside the late Whitney Houston.

Continuing the success of "Verses & Flow," this season will be comprised of eight 30-minute weekly variety shows. Each episode will consist of a performance by a music artist as well as performances by three featured poets.

Hardwick, a poet who moved to Los Angeles several years ago to hone his craft, commented, "Being brought on as the host of 'Verses & Flow' feels like I'm the prodigal poet returning home. As a poet who has been blessed with success as a film and TV actor, it's been easy to forget how much success I have experienced as a poet and how prolific the journey has been. I commend Lexus for creating this platform."

"Omari Hardwick is a dynamic performer and we're pleased he will be hosting 'Verses & Flow,'" said Lexus Vice President of Marketing Brian Smith. "His poetic background will add a valuable dimension as musical and spoken word performances are showcased. We look forward to a tremendous Season Two."

"Verses & Flow" will be broadcast on TV One and will debut on Friday, August 31.

This is a horrible press release, poorly written and he comes off like an arrogant jerk in he quoted section talking about how successful he is. So bad sites are running it a month later. Lmao! TV One, do better.

YEAH, EXCEPT GIVE JANET JACKSON HIV. THEY REUSE THE SAME PIC FOR JUST ABOUT EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING. JUST DON'T ASK WHAT'S ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT FENCE.

  • THE BLACK POLICE | June 28, 2012 4:00 PM

    Le sigh.

I DO NOT DESIRE THE AIDS MONSTER. IF HE HAS, IN FACT, BEEN CURED, THAT MIGHT JUST EXPLAIN THE BOXES HE KEEPS IN STORAGE. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU'RE GONNA NEED AIDS!

  • THE BLACK POLICE | June 28, 2012 3:18 PM

I think you meant "You get the AIDS!". Anyway... Omari never got AIDS. With his early detection of the HIV he was able to go into a miracle therapy (using his wife's dough from the divorce settlement, of course) that completely cured him. Why do you think he was so healthy and desirable in "I Will Follow"?

  • COMMENT POLICE | June 28, 2012 3:12 PM

WHY IT'S OMARI'S FAVORITE THINGS, OF COURSE! INDUSTRIAL SIZED BOXES OF SUPERAIDS IN THREE GREAT FLAVORS: CHERRY, SOUR APPLE, AND WHEATBRAN. YOU GET AIDS! AND YOU GET AIDS! EVERYONE GETS AIDS!

  • the black police | June 28, 2012 3:04 PM

That HO emasculated her man and was ruthless to all she encountered in her path. Clearly the HIV diagnosis softened her up. The creator wins! Also, "JUST DON'T ASK WHAT'S ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT FENCE."? Tell me, tell me, what's behind it?

  • COMMENT POLICE | June 28, 2012 2:58 PM

MAYBE IN THE WHY DID I GET MARRIED SERIES, WHERE SHE KEEPS MURDERING PEOPLE LEFT AND RIGHT, BUT NOT IN FOR COLORED GIRLS! BAWSE BITCHES DON'T DESERVE AIDS. #LIFELESSON

  • the black police | June 28, 2012 2:47 PM

    Pleeeze, that HO deserved it!

  • the black police | June 28, 2012 2:32 PMReply

Why do you keep using only this pic any time you mention Omari? He has other pics you know... Anyway, he can do no wrong!

Old press release from May. Um, ok. This taped already. The shows were good. I caught a couple. He was cool. Better actor than host though.
