About That Popular 'Black Films Don't Sell ...Omari Hardwick, Louis Gossett Jr. to Star in Mixed Martial Arts Action Drama "Redemption"
Redemption, currently in pre-production, is written by Norman F. May and directed by Tom Burruss. The cast includes Omari Hardwick, Louis Gossett Jr., Kate Del Castillo, Lark Voorhies, James Caan, Fabio May and Jazsmin Lewis.
Relative unknown Fabio May and Hardwick will play two long time friends, Maleek and Darius, who meet as kids "in a foster home that Maleek is forced to go to after his mother abandons him for another man. Maleek is fast to find out that Darius is not only a true friend but also the brother he never really had. Young Jada could be Maleek's first love until Maleek wakes up to see his world coming to an end and everything is changing with a surprise goodbye. Fifteen years later Maleek & Darius are putting everything into ending their Golden Gloves novice competition and entering into the professional boxing ring, when Jada comes back into Maleek's life bringing Page with her. Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas when one unfortunate incident happens where Maleek is forced to defend the honor of his blood brother Darius and fight the number one AFL contender Ronin Kage."
Kate Del Castillo will play Jada and Jazsmin Lewis will play the role of Page. Louis Gossett Jr. will play a character named Buddy. More updates as they come..
