It was just this past Sunday that Oprah confessed that her OWN cable channel has been a disappointment ratings-wise. But things might possibly be looking up, now that her new show on the network, Oprah's Next Chapter, looks to be a genuine hit.
Sunday's two-hour premiere episode, which featured Oprah interviewing Aerosmith lead singer, and American Idol judge Steven Tyler and his family, gave OWN its highest Sunday ratings since the network first beamed on, on January 1, 2011, getting a 1.1 rating and pulling in 1.1 million total viewers.
The premiere gave OWN a whopping 463% increase in demographics from the network's December 2011 average during that same time period. Only the premiere of Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes, which aired on Jan. 1, 2011, has scored better than the Next Chapter premiere, drawing a 1.11 in the demo, and 1.2 million total viewers.
In upcoming episodes of the series, Winfrey will interview George Lucas and Sean Penn in Haiti on the current situation there (... that is before she got upstaged in Haiti by Kimmy Cakes herself Kim Kardashian)
