As already announced, we now have official USA theatrical opening cities and theater locations for A Man's Story, the highly-anticipated Ozwald Boateng documentary, which is now set to be released in the USA on November 2nd.

The film will open on that day, in New York City, at the IFC Center; and in Los Angeles, at the Laemmle NoHo 7.

That's it for opening weekend. I expect it'll gradually expand to other cities, depending on how well it does in the first 2.

I'll be seeing the film in the next few days, and will share my thoughts right here, soon afterward. We'll also be interviewing the man himself, Ozwald Boateng, which should be great, so look out for that interview, to be posted before the film opens here in the USA.

The feature doc centers on charismatic London-born (of Ghanaian decent) Savile Row designer, Ozwald Boateng, who has outfitted men like Will SmithJamie FoxxSpike LeeBrad Pitt,Chris RockDaniel Day LewisDon CheadleForest WhitakerRussell CroweWesley Snipes, and countless others.

The film, 10 years in the making (by director Varon Bonicos who started filming Boateng in 1998 – he opened his first Savile Row shop in 1994, at age 34), is both a professional and personal profile of Boateng, focusing on his business, his design process, and his private life.

“… hard-working and very humanly flawed, Boateng’s personal and professional triumphs and set-backs are the fascinating heart of this film which is set against a back-drop of models, movie stars and fabulous locations… Boateng is also fascinating from a sociological perspective. As a black and heterosexual man, he breaks the stereotypes of the fashion industry,” says a write-up of the film on Britfilms.com.

And on-top of suiting up the elite, Boateng has done quite a bit of wardrobe design for films you have all seen, like The MatrixTomorrow Never DiesOceans 13, and a few others.

I should also mention that Ozwald’s appreciation for cinema has inspired him to write and direct as many as 10 short films, some we've featured on S&A.

The 90-minute film has already been released in the UK (in theaters and home video).

Here's the brand new trailer which reveals more footage than we've seen in past previews:

Unfortunately a great designer who spends more time on self promotion that ensuring the quality of his products or retail experience....I spent over £1000 on some bespoke shirts from Mr Boateng....the sleeves were two inches too short and it took two hours of argument to get them to remake and ship to Australia in time for my Wedding....despite all their promises , THEY ARRIVED TWO DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING....customer service is shocking...don't call when promised, don't respond to emails....and accept no responsibility for their mistakes....maybe best to stick with making movies!

The man. The EGO. Can't deny that he's darn good at what he does, though I'd never heard about him before you started featuring this doc. Can't wait to see it.
