After the shout-out Meryl Streep gave at the Golden Globes, it was only a matter of time. Adepero Oduye, known best as the star of Dee Rees' Focus Features drama Pariah, has signed with talent agency ICM, reports Deadline. Oduye is nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her role in the film as a lesbian teen struggling with identity and family conflict.

While Oduye has likely received a new wave of attention since Streep made mention of her talents in her Globes acceptance speech, the actress has been on the radar of independent film fans for some time.

For a look at some of her previous work, check out Jackie J. Stone's If I Leap (recently aired on HBO) or Keith Davis' Men in Love, both shorts we've covered previously on this site.

Congratulations to Ms. Oduye!

Adepero Oduye and Meryl Streep are beasts ( Sports terminology-it means really good)!! Actually, now that I think about it I'd like to see them on screen together.
