Paula Patton is said to be in negotiations to join the cast of Legendary Pictures' and Atlas Entertainment's movie adaptation of the popular video game World of Warcraft, which Duncan Jones (Moon) is attached to direct.

Assuming a deal is agreed on, Patton will join Colin Farrell, who has been offered a lead role in the film, although no word on what role exactly Patton is being considered for. World of Warcraft fans can chime in with their thoughts.

I've never played the game, but here's a brief description courtesy of Activision, its publisher:

Descend into the World of Warcraft and join thousands of mighty heroes in an online world of myth, magic, and limitless adventure. Explore jagged, snowy peaks; vast mountain fortresses; and harsh, winding canyons. Witness zeppelins flying over smoldering battlefields; battle in epic sieges -- a host of legendary experiences await. Enter the World of Warcraft…

Shooting begins in January.

Up next for Patton, who's been able to stay busy, she stars in David E. Talbert's adaptation of his own original work, the romcom Baggage Claim, which opens wide this weekend.

She sucks! Seriously??? She CAN NOT ACT! Come on people!

Colin Farrell is the weak link in this scenario.

Paula may not be the best actress but at least she doesn't get famous and completely ignore her black audience. I wish I could say the same for Halle Berry and Zoe Saldana. They would never make a movie like Baggage Claim!

Takers, Guess Who, Death at a Funeral, & Nina. The f*ck is you taking about Marissa? Zoe Saldana ain't "forget" black people. This time next year, you'll be slandering wackass Paula, too. You just can't stand to see a not-black-enough woman achieve mainstream success.

  • Um No | September 23, 2013 11:37 PM

Halle was in BAPS, Boomerang, Strictly Business, Do The Right Thing, Dorothy Dandridge, etc.,
No black films? You are still stupid I see and career stalled . lol

Uhm, they dont owe you anything. The only reason why Paula is making movies like baggage claim etcetera is cause she hasn't blown up (gone mainstream)like halle and zoe. Give her time, im sure you will be whining about her being a turncoat in the next couple of years.

Congrats to paula. I like her despite what ppl say. She was marvelous in precious and enjoyed her in mi4. She is the new "it" girl.

Good, she needs something to do.

She was good in Mission Impossible. I look forward to her doing this role as well. Zoe is doing Guardians of the Galaxy, as Gamora with Vin Diesal. 2014 should be a good year for both of these ladies. Congrats to both of them.
