AfryKamera: African Film Festival

Yes, we are repped all over the world, even in Poland.

All kidding aside, AfryKamera: African Film Festival in Poland (www.afrykamera.pl) is the first film festival in the Eastern European region dedicated to African diaspora film in general.

The 8th annual AfryKamera African Film Festival, jointly organized by two NGOs from Poland - Filmgramm Foundation and the Foundation for Somalia - will take place in Warsaw from the 10th to the 14th of April, 2013.

The festival is currently programming for 2013 and have issued a call for entries, with a final deadline of March 1, 2013.

Preview DVDs/Blu-rays are to be sent to the below address. Or, an online streaming version can be submitted as well.

All physical preview copies (DVD/Blu-ray) should be sent to the below address:

Feature films and full-length documentaries selected will be paid 600 Euro ($800) for festival participation (2-3 screenings) with optional further smaller screenings (in 60-120 seater cinema halls) across the country at 100 Euro ($133) per screening.

Short films will be paid 200 Euro ($267) for full festival participation (including screenings throughout Poland – with a maximum of 6 such screenings).

Film screenings will take place in the largest independent art cinema in Warsaw: the Kinoteka, located in the city centre in the Palace of Culture. Select films will be screened in smaller cinemas across the country.

The 2013 program for the festivals plans to present a special focus on Senegal. The main theme for 2013 is: African World Class.

If you are interested in submitting your movie to AfryKamera, please download REGULATIONS and ENTRY FORM or contact selection@afrykamera.pl for further details.
