Oscar-winning Precious screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher's directorial debut, Violet & Daisy made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall, but has yet to secure an official release date; although in an interview we did with Fletcher in April, he told us:

We should have an announcement about that within a couple of weeks, and it should be out in the fall. Until everything’s signed sealed and delivered I can't say much more than that. But I’ll be able to say more soon.

As far as we know, when the film will open has still not been revealed.

The cast includes Saoirse RonanAlexis BledelJames GandolfiniMarianne Jean-Baptiste and Danny Trejo in what has been described as a “Thelma and Louise meetsSuperbad meets Pulp Fiction” story.

Ronan and Bledel play a pair of teenage assassins lured into what is supposed to be just another quick and easy job, only to find complications as the man they’re supposed to kill is not who they expected.

There really hasn't been much official media released of the film; a few stills, but no trailer, nor clips yet. However, the poster below looks to be the film's official one. I just happened to stumble upon it on IMDB. IMDB dates it to June 6, so it's been on the web since that date. However, I'm not sure if it's widely-known that the poster has surfaced, because, after a search, it appears not many film sites picked it up.

Regardless the poster is embedded in full below. Also check out the photo above which we've never posted.

I saw this in Toronto. It was awesome and the last thing I expected from Fletcher. The dude has range. Comparing Hanna to Violet & Daisy is like comparing Rocky to Raging Bull.

@ SCASTAGNOLI Good idea. I'll give it a shot. For now, here's a list of adjectives that I find fitting for Violet & Daisy.

Shocking. Poetic. Sad. Funny. Strange. Hip. Surreal. Dream-like. Humanist. Retro. Hypnotic. Inspired.

@ FILMANIAC It would be appreciated if you could take a little time and write a brief review on the V&D page of the IMDB website. Only three individuals who saw it at TIFF have written reviews of the film.

I like it. Simple and straight to the point.
