The Whole Gritty City is an upcoming documentary feature film that immerses audiences into the worlds of 3 New Orleans marching bands.

It's a story of mentors helping kids get past the lures and dangers of the streets and make it to adulthood, while passing on a powerful musical legacy.

Co-directed by Emmy-winning producer Richard Barber and acclaimed photojournalist and cinematographer Andre Lambertson, the film is currently in post-production, with a 2013 bow expected.

David Simon should love this.
