After 2 teasers, here's a much better, longer look at the VH1-ordered Kimberly Elise scripted hour-long drama Hit The Floor (previously-titled Bounce), which co-stars newcomer Taylour Paige, Charlotte Ross, Logan Browninghas and Dean Cain.

Sanaa Hamri directed the pilot episode of a show that will focus on the lives and loves of a team of professional basketball dancers.

Hit The Floor follows the lives and loves of the Los Angeles Devil Girls, the dance team for the No.1 professional basketball team in the country. It centers on Ahsha (Taylour Paige), a sheltered young woman who joins the team against the wishes of her mother Sloane (Kimberly Elise), who knows this treacherous, tempting world all too well having been an original Devil’s Girl herself. Olivia (Charlotte Ross) is the shrewd squad manager, Jelena (Logan Browning) is the ruthless star captain of the dance team and Pete Davenport (Dean Cain) is the former All-Star who’s come back to coach his old team only to have to contend with the girls both stealing the spotlight and distracting his players.

The cast also includes Valery OrtizKatherine BailessJonathan McDaniel, Rob Riley and McKinley Freeman

VH1 has now set the premiere date for Hit The Floor for MondayMay 27, 9/8c.

Not my cup of team; but then again, I'm not in the target demo. Although I'm sure I'll check out the pilot to get a feel for the series, at least.

It's been called "VH1's biggest scripted effort to date."

Sometimes it feels like they never really want to test the waters when it comes to having a high number of PoC in a cast, and while you feel like you should support a show so they may make more shows featuring PoC, at the same time you don't want to watch something which makes your eyes roll.

Im glad to see Kimberly Elise doing something different. But she should have done Deception with Laz Alonzo and had Megan Good do this low budget, video vixen type film. Meg would have fit right in. You can tell the writing is poor and the acting outside Kimberly is going to be real mediocre.
