"HALLELUJAH and can I get an AMEN? We have just wrapped The Principal Photography of The New Spike Lee Joint RED HOOK SUMMER. We at 40 Acres are committed to building upon our Body of Work. I send you all a deep and sincere heartfelt Thanks for your Love, Support, Prayers and Blessings from Wayback in Da Wayback. Peace and Love..."

Words from Mr Spike Lee, posted earlier today on 40 The post was accompanied by the photo you see above, which I think is hilarious :)

Recall this is the new feature film called Red Hook Summer, which he started shooting on the 11th of July. So a relatively short filming period of about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks.

Still no official synopsis; all we know is that Spike is reprising his role the role he played in Do The right Thing - aka Mookie - and the story centers on a dude from ATL who spends a summer in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, NY.

At this rate, we could have our first look at the film soon, whether via still images, or even teaser clips.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what Spike has been cooking.

Stay tuned...

I am excited for this film for a myriad of reasons. First and foremost it was shot in my birthplace the fine Republic of Brooklyn. BROOKLYN STAND UP! BED-STUY DO OR DIE!

Second it seems to be a story Spike wrote himself. I know a lot of people bemoan Spike’s “prophesying” and feel it ventures, but his track record proves that he can tell a tight story and without knowing much about the plot it seems to be a taut little story. I’m excited to know more about this film as details emerge :)

@slb Three weeks is more than enough time for a film that more than likely does not involve elaborate stunts. That’s even enough time if it involved a ton of special effects for that is considered post production.
