Will Smith, his Overbrook Entertainment cohorts, and Queen Latifah are teaming up with Sony Pictures TV to produce a syndicated daytime talk show for the Queen to host.

At the moment, details are scarce, except that the program is scheduled to debut in 2013.

Recall the Queen once hosted a talkshow, titled The Queen Latifah Show, which had a rather short run, from 1999 to 2001. I'm sure expectations for this upcoming new program are higher.

    The Energizer Bunny keeps going.

I used to watch the old show and it had lots of good moments. She dealt with more topics of substance (police profiling, addressing lack of generational black wealth) than typical day time talk shows and did focus on a lot of black issues. I hope the new version won't be another Wendy Williams/ Monique show.
