Rashida Jones and her older sister, Kidada Jones, have landed a script order on the CW, for a project titled Ladyballs.
Part of a a 2-year deal Rashida has with Warner Bros TV, Ladyballs follows 2 twenty-something estranged friends searching for love in the Big Apple, reunited after they discover that they've both been involved with the same guy, and who realize a business opportunity and set up a secret agency that helps others who've been tricked/wronged in similar relationship situations.
So, in essence, they're akin to relationship heartbreak fixers, we could say. Thank you Olivia Pope. Nyuck... nyuck.. nyuck...
Rashida Jones and Will McCormack (whom she partnered with on Celeste & Jesse Forever), will co-executive produce the potential series, with Daniel Dubiecki of Allegiance Theater.
Kara Taylor (author of Prep School Confidential) will write the script and also co-executive produce.
Meanwhile, sister Kidada Jones will produce, her debut in as a producer.
This is the second sale for Rashida Jones and Will McCormack this season, with a comedy titled Stuck already set up at Fox.
