Talent agency International Creative Management (ICM) lately seems to be building some sort of dream team, as they are snatching up young talent, left and right.  This week they added another strong player to their roster in British actor Daniel Kaluuya.

S&A told you a few months ago about one of Kaluuya's latest projects, horror drama series The Fades, which had its BBC America premiere in January.

Kaluuya can also be seen acting alongside comedy legend Rowan Atkinson in the newly-released-to-DVD Johnny English Reborn.

Kaluuya previously starred as Posh Kenneth on the popular BBC series Skins, and eventually went on to become a head writer on that show.

ICM also represents rising talents such as Adepero Oduye, Emayatzy Corinealdi, and Amber Stevens.

ICM is going through major turmoil, so the recent black clients are really "interesting"...the white actors and mgmt. are jumping ship, so is this why there seems to be renewed attention to more swarthy talent? Who cares I guess, as long as they get to the next level in their careers. Is it just me, but why does it seem like so many of our working actors have protruding eyes? Taraji, Dule, Chiwetel, Octavia, Viola, now this dude? Reminds me of the 1930's when whites encouraged black actors to buck their eyes.

The name seems more Kenyan than Nigerian. The look is more East African than West African too.

He is excellent on THE FADES. BEST thing on the show. Oh, to be Nigerian-British LOL

Don't feel bad Jug. You got the name of the award right. :)

I shall stop posting as I am all sorts of wrong today LOL Thanks for the double correction guys. Either way, Daniel is great!

Thanks for the correction Mozzie and Jug the Screen Nation awards are not a Nigerian awards show. It is a UK based international film & TV awards show and we're really glad that you knew Daniel won the Young Shooting Star award in 2011. We're not surprised that you may have thought that both the show and Daniel were Nigerian as there are so many Nigerian heritage actors doing great things in the UK these days and as such tend to get nominated at the event.

We have a habit of spotting the young stars before they break mainstream as witnessed by wins in years gone by for Noel Clarke, Adam Deacon, Aml Ameen, etc. Best of luck to Daniel, he deserves it and will go far as he has a wide range. We predict that next one to break big will be writer/director Destiny Ekaragha.

And somehow I KNEW I was wrong about that Mozzie LOL I knew he won a Young Shooting Star at the Nigerian Screen Nation Film and Television Awards & just assumed. Thanks for the schooling!
