Robert Townsend is getting behind the camera again; this time to direct a basketball-themed rom-com titled Playin' For Love.
First, let me just say that I hope that's just a working title, and that Mr Townsend will reconsider, and call his basketball-themed rom-com something other than Playin' For Love.
What's Playin' For Love about? Per THR:
The story revolves around the head coach of a high school hoops team and a single mother who turns the team upside down.
No casting info yet; however, Townsend will look to *unknown* talent via auditions planned to begin on November 4 in Miami, FL, where the film will be shot, in a collaboration that includes the Miami Heat, the City Of Miami, the University of Miami School of Communication Department of Cinema and Interactive Media, Miami Dade County Public Schools, the Greater Miami Convention and more.
It's a Miami affair, obviously.
Townsend will also produce.
Up next for Townsend is the drama In the Hive, which stars Michael Clarke Duncan, Loretta Devine, Vivica Fox and others, which will open on December 7.

Yay, another movie about black people playing basketball in love...SMH. How about a movie about black people selling drugs and in love, let's try a new stereotype.

Great. I like a lot of his work. There are two hive movies coming out, his & the one with Morris Chestnut and Halle.
