Probably hoping to reap similar rewards AMC's The Walking Dead, Rosario Dawson is teaming with the producer of that hit zombie series, Gale Anne Hurd, to bring her graphic novel to A&E.

Titled O.C.T. (Occult Crimes Taskforce), the NYC/NYPD drama/thriller is being developed as a potential starring vehicle for Dawson.

What's it about? Per THR, O.C.T. will...

... explore the inner-workings of the task force, which was established after the Civil War to make the New York City streets safe from practitioners of Black Magic, demons from another dimension and all manner of supernatural malcontents.

The series' central character is...

Sophia Ortiz... a new member of the bureau who uses magic, spells, ghosts, the undead and the unnatural. At the heart of the story is an ongoing struggle between the O.C.T. detectives and an organized demon-force attempting to take over Manhattan.

Word is that Dimension Films previously planned to adapt the graphic novel for the big screen.

Has anyone read O.C.T.? And any thoughts if you have?

With this story line and setting (NYC), I'd expect a nice diverse group of characters.

And who knew that the co-creator of the comic, David Atchison, is Black. I certainly didn't. The internet can be a blessed invention!
