She was nominated for two 2012 Irish Film And Television Awards; Best Actress in a Lead Role-TV, and Best Actress in a Supporting Role-TV.  Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga managed to walk away with the award for the former this past Saturday night, for her portrayal of Nigerian-Brit music legend Shirley Bassey in the TV-movie, Shirley.

Negga was also nominated for an IFTA for her performance in Series 2 of Misfits.  She will likely be seen next alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the crime-drama The Samaritan, which has seen festival screenings already this year.
