RZA's certainly keeping himself busy, both in front of and behind the camera... the latest from Variety:

Quentin Tarantino is reaching out to a familiar face for a part in DJANGO UNCHAINED, tapping his KILL BILL composer RZA for a supporting role in the spaghetti Western... RZA will play Thaddeus, a violent slave working on a Mississippi plantation.

It's been awhile since I read the script for the film and don't immediately recall a "violent slave" named "Thaddeus," why he's described as "violent," or how considerable the part is.

Regardless, whether or not he was in the version of script I read, or a new character Tarantino has since written in, RZA's going to play him.

I hope we'll be seeing a trailer for his The Man With The Iron Fists soon (his directorial debut, shepherded by Tarantino by the way; as well as Eli Roth)! Been a minute since that wrapped.

About a decade ago, after geting tired of seeing the craze to cast rappers for any and all roles set aside for black folks, I made a joke to friends that there would come a film based on Reconstruction and the opening credits would read : "Starring Anthony Hopkins...Jodie Foster...Morgan Freeman...and Ghostface Killah".

    Close enough.

Yeah, I know RZA has been acting for a bit and I know he and QT are pals but.....really?

@Jug Good to know there's a rewrite. I wasn't sure about the movie after reading the script. I was thinking that it lacked something. Not quite sure, maybe it was heart. I didn't "feel" the love between Django and Broomhilda. Hopefully the rewrite will punch that part up.

There's a rewrite. I'm gonna get into it pretty soon.

But I think the hardest part...is someone saying "I'm gonna cast you, you look like a slave" LMBAO
