On Sunday's show (January 29th on Blogtalk Radio HERE) we'll cover the hottest topics on S&A now:
-Red Tails. Was it really a success and, if so, is it due to Tyler Perry endorsing it? Did the "black films will become extinct" rhetoric help or hurt the film?
-Spike Lee. Reviews were mixed regarding his new film Red Hook Summer, will folks still support this film no matter what? Also, why does his outspokenness bother so many people?
-Idris Elba. He won a Golden Globe recently so what does this mean, if anything, regarding his career?
-The Oscars. Yes, we bemoan them every year but we'll try to make some predictions. We'll also discuss if winning will advance the careers of Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer.
-Half Of A Yellow Sun. The casting of Thandie Newton as an Igbo woman for the film adaptation of this book has created major controversy and, most recently, a petition (read HERE). Is the argument being presented valid?

Regarding the validity of the argument surrounding the casting of Thandie Newton in Half of a Yellow Sun: are any Igbo, or even Nigerian actors, writers, directors, producers going to be part of the discussion? I only ask as an all-African American panel will hardly have any incite into its validity.

Nit to be picky but it does make a difference. Your typo: Idris Elba WON that Golden Globe as I'm sure you know. Looking forward to the new conversation! Vigilance!
