Oscilloscope Laboratories opens Lotfy Nathan’s lauded debut feature, 12 O'Clock Boys, which world premiered the 2012 SXSW Film Festival, this Friday, January 31, 2014.

Oscilloscope will open the film in New YorkLos Angeles, Baltimore, San Francisco, Miami, Seattle, Austin, Columbus, Portland, Denver and New Orleans theaters - and across all digital and VOD platforms - on January 31.

Here's the synopsis:

The 12 O'CLOCK BOYS are a notorious urban dirt bike pack in Baltimore -- popping wheelies and weaving at excessive speeds through traffic, the group impressively evades the hamstrung police. In Lotfy Nathan's wild, dynamic documentary (three years in the making), their stunning antics are envisioned through the eyes of a young, adolescent, bright kid from the Westside obsessed with the riders and willing to do anything to join their ranks. Premiering to critical acclaim at the SXSW and Hot Docs Film Festivals (where Nathan won the HBO Emerging Artist Award), 12 O'CLOCK BOYS provides a compelling and intimate personal story of a young boy and his dangerous, thrilling dream.

Dan Berger of Oscilloscope said, “In 12 O’CLOCK, Lotfy has introduced us to a world so compelling, so foreign, and so relatable all at once. It’s a portrait of a subculture as much as a window into the state of America, and it’s all in the guise of THE WIRE by way of CIRQUE DU SOLEIL.  It’s seriously like nothing you’ve seen before.”

Ahead of this Friday's debut, S&A is giving away 3 pairs of tickets (courtesy of Oscilloscope) for New York City readers only, that will be redeemable for any showtime, Monday to Thursday, for the entire run of the film at the AMC Empire 25, midtown Manhattan.

To win a pair, all you have to do is answer a very simple question: what's the name of the "young, adolescent, bright" kid at the center of the film's narrative? It's easy enough to find.

Send your responses to me at obensont@gmail.com, with the words "12 O'Clock Boys Giveaway" in the subject line. You have until tonight, Thursday, January 30, at 11:59pm EST to do so!

Please don't reply in the comment section below. Email me by the deadline date as advised.

Following below, you'll find the film's release poster, followed by the film's trailer:
