"No longer doing Roseannes show. *ish* happens Moving on to the next" - @sallirichardson

Salli Richardson-Whitfield tweeted these words last night after having tweeted (not sure if this has become an actual word yet) a couple of days earlier about a table reading for the Roseanne Barr-starrer NBC pilot Downwardly Mobile about trailer park dwellers.

This comes a month after our announcement that Richardson-Whitfield's was slated to star as "Mrs. Denby, the wife of Mr. Denby, played by Greg Comer. Mr. Denby is a charismatic hedge fund guy who recently loses everything due to fraudulent investments. He brings his wife to the trailer park for a new start. Whitfield's character, unhappy with her new life, becomes Barr's foil."

That's unfortunate since we were looking forward to the talented Miss Richardson gracing the screen again. Alas, perhaps this just wasn't her role.

We certainly look forward to what she has in store next!

People are fired after the table read all the time. This is, at least, the third incident this season. Just happened to Brian Greenberg (How to Make It In America) a couple weeks ago, too. On to the next. TV is rough. You can book a pilot, and still have a million possibilities for disappointment. As an actor you can get replaced after table read, have your show not get picked up, get replaced by another actor after pickup, have your show cancelled, get written out, or be stuck in a crappy role/series for seven years while other opportunities pass and your "heat" fades.

What's up with these race-tinted comments? For whatever reason she's no longer doing this. It happens. "Too good to play trailer trash"? What the heck does that even mean?

When you've been to Eureka it's hard to go to the trailer park! Good lookin' out Salli!

She's too good to be playing trailer park trash anyway. They replaced her with a white girl. Rightly so.

@critical acclaim... ...check yourself, you have a mean streak.

The story is on deadline. She couldn't keep up with the comedy. Multi-cam sitcom comedy is not a style every actor is skilled at. Apparently, she didnt mesh with the style at the table read and struggled at the run through. She was recast with an actress from New Adventures w Old Christine. Comedy is it's own animal and I imagine it's hard to really flow if it's not in your wheelhouse and you're working with very skilled multi-cam sitcom vets like Roseanne and John goodman. Sucks, but there will be other things for Salli.

That does suck. Wonder if they'll pick another black actress?
