File this one under "unconfirmed" for now; although my sources haven't let me down so far, so I'm sharing what I've got on the project.

I'm told that Sanaa Lathan is prepping a feature drama titled All In, which she will produce as well as star in, under the direction of Joy Lusco Kecken.

The film's story centers on a down-on-her-luck poker player who tries to make a comeback in the game.

That's all I've got right now.

Lathan will presumably play the poker player. No other cast was mentioned.

Joy Lusco Kecken is penning the script as well. Her resume should impress fans of The Wire and Homicide, because she wrote for both shows, and even directed an episode of The Wire.

She's also co-writer of the adaptation of Thulani Davis' drama/trhiller Maker Of Saints, which Erykah Badu and Roger Guenveur Smith are attached to star in currently.

So by all accounts, Sanaa should be in good hands here.

Piper Productions and LoveWorks Entertainment are producers.

The last time we saw Sanaa Lathan in a feature film was in Contagion last year, although she wasn't on screen much. She's currently co-starring on the Starz drama series Boss, with Kelsey Grammer.

Up next for her is the thriller Vipaka, with Forest Whitaker and Antony Mackie.

When I know more about All In, so will you.

This looks like a black version of Rounders.

I'm definitely a Sanaa Lathan fan and look forward to her continuing to write and produce. Nice to see that extra bit of ownership on the product.

Love me some Sanaa, she's very talented and I am for her career success. She is doing her thing on Boss if you haven't watched the show, you are missing out. She's married on the show and has a handsome brotha for a husband and two kids. It's nice to see a positive black family on television. She plays a character that won't compromise and is standing up for the African American community she grew up in. Check it out.

you must've just started watching this season, cause she is definitely going to compromise herself. It's about Chicago politics.

Yay! Sanaa is both gorgeous and talented, and we can never see enough of her on the screen, big or small. I'm also happy that the director's credentials make sense for a change.

@ david You got that right! Someone give this woman a great role! (Workin on patient)

@Kirk -- So am I! lol. I'll race you, slug by slug line.

She's definitely an artist that should go the indie route!

Even with all her exceptional character work, Lathan has trekked along quietly. My bet is that she'll see a kind of later career resurgence like Viola Davis.

One meaty role from a tight, skillfully written script should do it.

She's finally figured out that Hollywood doesn't give a damn about all her grace, beauty and tremendous talent. Looks to be going the indie route, producing her own things. It's about time. She should've had a much bigger career. Same talent, white skin, she would have. Now reinvent. Broadway. Indies. Make it work FOR YOU, not for them.

Same talent, white skin she would still likely be going the same route because Hollywood has limited options for women when they are over 35.
