Be sure to read Natasha's recap of last night's loaded episode, posted earlier this morning HERE

With 1 more episode to go before the season ends, ABC is sure taking its time to announce whether the show will be renewed for a third season. I mean, of course it will, right? With these almost weekly ratings records...

If it's not, I pity the execs running the network. The force is strong with the Gladiators! I know, because I've felt it!

Last night's numbers via press release from ABC below:

ABC's "Scandal" Surges to a New Series High as TV's Top 10pm Drama Telecast in 7 Months

ABC finished #2 on Thursday in Adults 18-49 for the 2nd week in a row, as Scandal and Grey's ranked as the night's Top 2 dramas for the 3rd week running in Adults 18-49

ABC was up year to year on Thursday for the 2nd week in a row in Adults 18-49 (+9%).

· Building on its Grey's lead-in, Scandal hit a new series high in Adults 18-49, spiking 23% week to week and surpassing its previous high by 14%.

· Scandal is on track to rank as TV's #1 drama for the 2nd time in 3 weeks and delivered the highest rating for any regular 10 o'clock drama telecast on any net in 7 months - since 10/15/12.

· Continuing to post big year-to-year gains, Scandal shot up 68% in Adults 18-49 from its telecast on the same night last year.

· Scandal out-delivered Idol-Thursday in Adults 18-49 for the first-time ever.

These networks better take note. Viewers will watch a show as long as the story keeps moving and is interesting.

Outside of early season cancellations (666 Parke Ave. , Last Resort, Don't Touch the B...etc.) ABC is the only network to not have announced ANY renewals or cancellations. The expectation is that over the next few days during upfronts ABC will announce.

Scandal has no worries at all. It is a lock. ABC is flying the casts of Scandal and Modern family to be their featured shows to bring onstage during upfronts. They only ever bring 1 or 2 shows and it is usually shows that are break-out freshman shows, but since ABC didn't have any of those this year, they are going with Emmy darling Modern Family and Buzzy breakout Scandal.

So, not at all worried about Scandal although it is my only appointment tv show. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Happy Endings and The Neighbors.
