Well... at least it could mean more work, and thus a paycheck for Mr Chiwetel Ejiofor, and given the way the first one ended, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that Sony Pictures is moving forward with a sequel.
Kurt Wimmer has reportedly started writing the screenplay (and will direct), for Angelina Jolie to return as Evelyn Salt, the CIA agent who we eventually learn is indeed a Russian spy, though there's more to the thriller, which has its share of twists and turns. I didn't care much for it; A-list cast; B-movie hokum, in short.
Ejiofor's talents are pretty much wasted in it. But, as I said, I'm sure it was a nice paycheck.
Will he return for the sequel? Probably. Going against usual expectations, the brotha actually lived to see the end of the film, to fight another day.
So what should the sequel to Salt be called? Pepper
