After graduating from the New York Film Academy last year, I figured he'd be prepping to shoot his feature film debut by now, instead of hosting a needless series for TruTV.

But maybe this will give him an opportunity to hone his skills thanks to the fact that part of his hosting duties will include writing and directing parodies for what looks like a sketch comedy show.

The gist: TruTV has greenlit the tentatively titled Upload with Shaquille O'Neal which will star the retired NBA center and his comedian pals, as they comment on funny Web videos, as well as create their own viral skits and parodies to complement and fill the time.

O'Neal's cohosts will include Gary Owen (Think Life a Man) and Godfrey (The Mr. Men Show).

"I’ve always tried to entertain people... and I know this show will deliver big laughs," Shaq said in a statement.

The project has been granted a 10-episode order.
