Thanks to director Sheldon Candis for letting us know that his feature film debut, LUV, which stars Common and Michael Rainey Jr, will open in USA theaters on November 9.

The film made its debut at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, in the dramatic competition section.

It continued to tour the film festival circuit, with screenings at the Champs-Elysées Film Festival (both in Paris and LA), American Black Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Film Festival.

It was also picked up by BET for its eventual TV debut.

Indomina Entertainment acquired the film after its Sundance premiere, with a fall release expected.

The film's official synopsis reads:

An orphaned 11-year-old boy is forced to face the unpleasant truth about his beloved uncle during one harrowing day in the streets of Baltimore.

Dennis Haysbert, Danny Glover, and Charles S. Dutton also co-star.

Jasmin saw the film at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June and reviewed it HERE.

Sheldon also notes that an official trailer is imminent, so once it surfaces, we'll have it for you.

In the meantime, check out the 2 clips below, for a glimpse at what to expect:
