candid

A film we first profiled almost 2 years ago, when it was announced that it would be making its world premiere at the Urbanworld Film Festival in 2012, is now available on VOD after a film festival run.

From writer & director Vishnu J. Seesahai, who also the film's star, it's titled "Candid," described by the filmmaker as "The 1-Man-Movie," because it was written, directed, shot, acted, and edited all by one man - himself - on a listed budget of just $5,000.

The film's synopsis reads:

Voyeurism is simply the act of deriving pleasure from watching. It usually pertains to viewing or spying on the lives of others. Philosophically, it is the antithesis of exhibitionism, which is the love of being watched. Psychologically speaking, the voyeur/exhibitionist wheel spins within each of us powered by the yin and yang of opposing forces. So which are you voyeur, exhibitionist or a little of both? The independent psychological thriller ”Candid” explores the delicate balance of these two worlds through the all seeing eye of the camera lens. A video voyeur stalks women in the city with a digital camera as part of a voyeuristic social experiment, until he crosses paths with a beautiful model who harbors a dark secret … she is a serial killer.

Vishnu, who stars as the video voyeur, says that "Candid" is an excursion into the worlds of voyeurism and exhibitionism, as well as an exploration of reality-based entertainment, what he considers a disturbing trend.

After traveling the film Festival circuit, winning awards along the way, "Candid" is now available on VOD, via streaming platforms like Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, VUDU, Youtube, Playstation, and XBOX MOVIES. You can rent or buy it today. So look for it on any of these digital services you prefer.
