"When we revealed who the mole was to the cast, cast members literally got up from the table and ran around the table screaming, which was hilarious. Then when we revealed the twist on the twist of who the mole was, I thought I'd have to sedate cast members because people were freaking out, which was awesome. It's not just who the mole is, it's who the mole is working with and what's going on there that's even bigger than just who the mole is. We're really proud of who the mole is, that's a pretty surprising twist but it's even bigger than that."

Words from showrunner Shonda Rhimes talking to THR after last week's episode of Scandal.

Needless to say, I'd guess the above quote will excite fans of the series, as the series reaches the end of its successful second season, with just 2 episodes left before the summer break.

And with regards to this seasons final episode in next week, Rhimes added:

We're going to leave everybody over the summer, I hope, with their mouths hanging open a little bit asking how the hell they're going to get out of this, which is our goal. We know how we're ending the season and now we're trying to figure out how we're getting out of it (laughs). We end the season in a way that explodes the premise of the show in a way that's good and strong and hopefully sticks with bold story telling.

Rhimes also talks about last episode's ending, and what each key occurrence might mean for the series and its characters from here-on. Read the full interview HERE.

I assumed it was VP Langston - we haven't heard much from here. And was Huck's ex booked for an arc? 'Cause it it's her I'll be pissed. That ain't good storytelling.

My guesses are Olivia and she's working with Mellie somehow. That's the only thing that would really shakeup the show. I like Harrison being the mole too, but why?

    I was thinking Harrison too...IDK

  • Akimbo | May 6, 2013 6:31 PMReply

Seriously, if it's Huck's ex and Joe Morton is her dad or some shit, I'll be so pissed.

I think David Rosen would be the biggest shocker. He's the only truly "good" person in the show. If it's anyone on Olivia's team beside Quinn, they'll have a LOT of explaining to do. Just so long as it's not randomly Olivia or Huck's ex...

Well Akimbo, you were right on..what a shocker...revenge is his..lol

  • ALM | May 6, 2013 10:26 PM

Oooh....Huck's ex....that would make sense since she was booked for an arc, but we have only seen her on screen for one episode so far.

  • Ashley | May 6, 2013 6:18 PMReply

    Its so Harrison.

  • ALM | May 6, 2013 6:00 PMReply

    It better not be Harrison....LOL!!!
